We specialise in the design and maintenance of train, tram and monorail and APM wash systems, also providing a comprehensive range of ancillary equipment and products, such as wash chemicals and CET and refuelling systems.

Wilcomatic Rail offers turnkey solutions for all rail washing requirements; design, manufacture, installation and a life time of care and maintenance. We offer equipment suitable to wash trains, trams locomotives and wagons and can cover difficult areas including the eaves and skirts.

The flexible design configuration of the wash systems will allow drive-through or stationary rollover cleaning, or a combination of both; including front and rear cleaning. Systems can be designed around the space available and configured for single or bi-directional washing if required.

Internationally, Wilcomatic Rail Division strategy is to work with turnkey providers of rail systems and the company is globally accredited by Bombardier and has supplied a number of systems to Siemens, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Scomi.

HEAVY RAIL

Gantry wash and wash tunnel systems for heavy rail are necessary for the cleaning of the front and rear of trains, as well as the sides.

The equipment can be supplied as a closed frame system, suitable for trains powered by diesel or third rail electrical supplies or a split frame system suitable for vehicles powered by overhead electrical lines.

The gantry traverse movement is controlled by means of a frequency transformer so the speed of washing is adjustable to suit the conditions.

The systems can be used to completely clean a stationary train or as part of a drive-through system for front and rear cleaning. Once the train moves the gantry remains stationary cleaning the train sides.

The gantry can be used for cleaning front, rear and sides and can include additional eaves or skirt brushes. The vertical brushes can cross over the front of the train (subject to obstructions) and assist the roof brush cleaning operation. The height and width of the gantry is designed to suit the carriage profiles. All vertical brushes are current controlled for precise positioning pressure.

This system is suitable for OEL systems and can also include eaves and skirt brushes in addition to two pairs of vertical side brushes and a split roof (front washing brush). The equipment is available free standing on twin tracks either side or preferred with high level support steels on either side of the bay (for additional security) The split roof brush is positioned by means of a frequency transformer for adjustable speeds and cleaning intensity. The flexible design of this system allows for use with a stationary, semi stationary or drive through wash mode.
